Assessment Structure:
β’ Paper 1/2: Short-answer questions (Core/Extended)
β’ Paper 3/4: Structured questions (Core/Extended)
β’ Core pathway: grades CβG
β’ Extended pathway: grades A*βE
Key Features: Core and Extended tiers to suit different ability levels. Formula sheets provided from 2025 onwards. Requires geometrical instruments: ruler, protractor and compasses.
2026-2028 Syllabus: Covers Number, Algebra & Graphs, Geometry, Mensuration, Coordinate Geometry, Trigonometry, Vectors & Transformations, Probability, and Statistics.
π Pearson Edexcel
Assessment Structure (Spec A β 4MA1):
β’ Paper 1: 2 hours, 50% weighting
β’ Paper 2: 2 hours, 50% weighting
β’ Foundation tier (grades 5β1) and Higher tier (grades 9β4, grade 3 allowed)
Key Features: Balanced mix of short and multiβstep questions. Calculators allowed in both papers. Modular version available from 2024 offering flexible exam scheduling.
Specification B (4MB1): Higher tier only, includes advanced topics such as matrices, calculus, factor theorem, and advanced vectors. Designed for students with strong mathematical aptitude.
