What is the difference between Core and Extended?
Core is designed for students aiming for grades C to G and covers fewer topics in less depth. Extended is designed for students aiming for grades A* to E and includes additional, more challenging content. Both pathways cover the same core areas, but Extended goes further into algebra, graphs, and geometry. The weightings are Paper 1/2: 35%, Paper 3/4: 65%.[reference:10]
Will there be a formula sheet in the exam?
From 2025 onwards, a formula sheet is provided on page 2 of all 0580 Mathematics examinations. Students are expected to memorise all other formulas that are not on the sheet, such as the volume of a cube.[reference:11]
What equipment do I need for the exam?
Geometrical instruments required: ruler, protractor and a pair of compasses. Tracing paper is also permitted for transformation questions. For working and answers, candidates must write in permanent, non-erasable black or dark blue ink (pencil may be used for graphs and constructions).[reference:12]

June series results are typically released in mid-August (19 August 2026). October/November series results are released in January. March series (India only) results are released in May.
How many papers do I need to take?
