📅 Study Routine (4 PM – 5 PM)

Daily 1-hour focused study session for IGCSE Mathematics mastery

4:00 – 5:00 PM
📐 Mathematics Mastery Hour
Focused, structured study session designed for maximum retention
  • 🔹 0-10 mins: Warm-up — 5 quick starter questions
  • 🔹 10-40 mins: Core Focus — New concept or topic practice
  • 🔹 40-50 mins: Exam-Style Practice — 2-3 past paper questions
  • 🔹 50-60 mins: Review — Check answers, identify mistakes, make notes

💡 Pro Tip: Consistency is key! Even 1 hour daily is more effective than 5 hours once a week. Use the first 10 minutes to review yesterday's work.

💪
"Mathematics is not about numbers, equations, computations, or algorithms: it is about understanding. Every great mathematician was once a student who refused to give up. Your journey to Grade 9 starts with one step — and you've already taken it."

❓ Frequently Asked Questions

Which specification should I choose?
Mathematics A is suitable for a broader range of abilities with Foundation and Higher tiers. Mathematics B is designed for students with strong mathematical aptitude and is Higher tier only. Choose B if you are confident in mathematics and considering further mathematics or STEM at A-Level.
Can I use a calculator in the exams?
Yes, calculators are allowed in all papers. For Mathematics A, the use of a calculator is permitted in both papers. For Mathematics B, calculators are also allowed in both papers, and a formula sheet is provided for Paper 2.
What is the grading scale?
Both specifications use the 9-1 grading scale. Grade 9 is the highest, and grade 1 is the lowest. For Mathematics A Foundation tier, grades 5-1 are available; for Higher tier, grades 9-4 (grade 3 allowed). Mathematics B is Higher tier only, awarding grades 9-4 (grade 3 allowed).
What is the difference between linear and modular?
The linear qualification requires all exams to be taken at the end of the course in the same series. The modular version (available for Maths A from 2024) allows students to take exams at the end of each unit, offering more flexibility and resit opportunities.
How many marks do I need for a Grade 9?
For a Grade 9, you typically need 90%+ (180+ out of 200 marks). However, grade boundaries vary each session, so check the official boundaries for your exam series.
What resources does APEIRON provide?
APEIRON provides comprehensive resources including syllabus-mapped notes, topic-wise worksheets, full-length practice papers, past papers by chapter, video tutorials, and interactive quizzes. All resources are available in our Resource Library above.
